About Me. Lisa

Reflexology in Stanstead Abbotts and surrounding areas

I am a qualified and fully insured Reflexologist (Level 3 Diploma including Anatomy and Physiology). I trained at a leading school in Essex, which meets the rigorous standards set out by the Association of Reflexologists.

I have also worked in Human Resources for over 10 years, which has given me the opportunity to build relationships with people from all backgrounds and of all ages. I use the transferrable skills I have developed throughout my career, and my passion for working with people, in my reflexology practice - it helps me to treat an individual holistically.

I came to reflexology when my husband and I were trying to conceive our first child. As time passed and nothing happened, I became more and more anxious and so I began to look at alternative ways to help me fall pregnant. At first I reviewed my diet, and I then began a course of reflexology.

I began to see a Reflexologist specialising in conception and pregnancy on a weekly basis. I found the treatment very relaxing and I also found it fascinating how much information could be gained from my feet! Not only did it help me to understand my body better, but it also made me feel better on a physical and emotional level. Being able to talk to my Reflexologist in a safe and confidential environment really made a huge difference to my wellbeing and how positively I felt about my journey to become pregnant.

The reflexology sessions made me question whether I could have a possible disorder associated with infertility, and after making an appointment with my GP to voice my concerns, and a few tests later, it was confirmed that I had Polycystic Ovaries. At this point I began a course of treatment which unfortunately was unsuccessful, and then my husband and I were referred to a London clinic for ICSI. I am delighted to say that our beautiful baby boy arrived in December 2016.

Whilst undergoing all of this treatment I had regular reflexology sessions which helped me to relax and prepare for the different stages of my treatment, but also offered me a sanctuary to talk about how I was feeling, which for me was very important. I also continued to have reflexology after my baby was born.

Having had such a positive experience, I decided to train to become a Reflexologist so that I could help others to feel the enormous physical and emotional benefits that this holistic and non-invasive touch therapy gave me.

I practice mindfullness and meditation on a daily basis for my own personal wellbeing, but this also means that I treat my clients with a clear mind full of positive intentions.

Please note that Reflexologists do not claim to diagnose or cure.
